Las Constituyentes in the Spanish Film Festival of Malaga. April 27th at the Albéniz movie theater. At 13h we will receive the silver Biznaga "Affirming the Rights of Women".
The documentary film Oliva Acosta "The Constituent" which brings together the personal experience of the 27 women who participated in drafting the 1978 Constitution, international trailer premieres.
"The Constituent" in the words of its director, "tells a fascinating part of the history of women's political participation in Spain, and analyzes the current situation through a shot at the Senate meeting between deputies and current policies with some women constituents. "The documentary provides an analysis, based on personal experience of these policies, on the facts that constitute one of the most interesting stages of the parliamentary system of our country: that of the Constituent Cortes in the period 1977-1979, and does so from the perspective of women. This is a necessary look on the Spanish transition. The film, written and directed by Oliva Acosta, and produced by Olivavá Productions, with the participation of Canal Sur, the Basque Television and Television Canaria, obtained in the last European Film Festival in Seville a special mention in section Eurodoc in who attend some of the best European documentaries. It has also been nominated for the Goya 2012.

The theaters for the projection of The Constituents and the Assumption Cruañes tribute, both in Valencia and Alicante were fully packed!
Oliva Acosta recently received at the Ateneo de Valencia the Federation of Progressive Women of Valencia 2012 Award,given by Julia Seville, the author of "Women Parliamentarians of the Constituent Assembly", the bible used by the director to develop the script of the film.
In the photo she is next to Pepe Reig, son of Deputy Constituent of Alicante, Asunción Cruañes, recently deceased, to whome it was given a emotive tribute.
The Constituents was presented at the Huesca's Film Festival Directed by Women, and the Mujerdoc at Soria III INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY FESTIVAL ON GENDER EQUALITY, set up by NGO Mujeres del Mundo (Women of the World) and SEIS DRAGONES aims to be a platform for the exhibition of DOCUMENTARIES that contribute to the promotion of equal possibilities for women and men.
